About The Author

Brian Edward McDermott, BSHA, RN — known around Sandalwood Village as Pop-Pop — is an author, painter, and nurse, and the founder of BYION Enterprises LLC. The Mudpies Universe began with one little poem and a bedtime story read to his grandson, and grew into a whole village where muddy shoes lead to meaningful lessons and kindness always gets the last word. He lives in Rochester, Minnesota, with his wife Ann, a houseful of cats and dogs, and a grandson who approves every story first. Every Mudpies story keeps three promises: no animal is ever harmed, the stories help instead of hurt, and yes always beats no.
